In the contact plate freezer, the product is pressed between metal plates (hollow shelves). Refrigerant is circulated inside channels in the plates, which ensures efficient heat transfer and results in short freezing times, as in the case of frozen fish fillets, shrimp, chopped spinach, or meat offal.

Plate Contact  Freezer Brief Introduction

The need to transfer heat from the product to air, and then from the fluid to the refrigerant evaporator is a drawback of air blast freezing process.

In the contact plate freezer, the product is pressed between metal plates (hollow shelves). Refrigerant is circulated inside channels in the plates, which ensures efficient heat transfer and results in short freezing times, as in the case of frozen fish fillets, shrimp, chopped spinach, or meat offal.

Freezing time depends on the thickness of the product between the shelves. Typically, two hours are required to freeze a 6 cm thick block of fish to a core temperature of – 18°C, with plate temperature at -35°C.

The contact plate freezer has completed the integrated assembly before delivery, without reassembly at the customer site, compact, sanitary and small footprint.

Plate Contact  Freezer Main Parts

1. Plate Evaporator

The evaporator, i.e., the upper and lower surfaces of flat plate is directly in contact with the frozen food through the hydraulic ram.

Special extruded aluminum-magnesium alloy profile aluminum alloy refrigerated plate is of light weight, good thermal conductivity and strong corrosion resistance.

The evaporator plates are arranged horizontally from top to bottom, and the top plate is connected to the hydraulic cylinder.

2. Freezer library

The frame structure and internal polyurethane foam result a not deformed and good thermal insulation freezer library. The library internal and external plates are all stainless steel SUS304.

3. Freezer hydraulic system

The hydraulic system includes an oil cylinder and a hydraulic station. The oil cylinder is located in the middle of the plate freezer. The solenoid valve on the hydraulic station controls the lifting of the plate.

The door is sealed with sponge rubber sealing strip to prevent cold leakage. The Doors are opened on both sides for easy operation
